What Life Would Be Like

Big Daddy Weave Lyrics - What Life Would Be Like Lyrics

I wish I was more of a man
Have you ever felt that way
And if I had to tell you the truth
I’m afraid I’d have to say
That after all I’ve done and failed to do
I feel like less than I was meant to be

What if I could fix myself
Maybe then I could get free
I could try to be somebody else
Whose much better off than me
But I need to remember this
That it’s when I’m at my weakest
I can clearly see

He made the lame walk
And the dumb talk
He opened blinded eyes to see
That the sun rises on His time
Yet He knows our deepest desperate need
And the world waits
While His heart aches
To realize the dream
I wonder what life would be like
If we let Jesus live through you and me

What if you could see yourself
Through another pair of eyes
What if you could hear the truth
Instead of old familiar lies
And what if you could feel inside
The power of the hand that made the universe
You realize

All our lives we’ve longed for more

So let us lay our lives before the one
Who gave His life for us

Photo Tag

A consistent blog reader of mine, Adrienne, tagged me!  I won't continue this on, but I'll play along with her, as I'm a big fan.

The challenge was to go to the photos on my computer, and in the sixth folder pull out the 6th photo on the list.  Of course I don't store photos on my com
puter anymore, but I had just downloaded a folder of circus photos to do some circus pages for Andrew, and so I'll use that folder.

Here is what was in the 6th spot:

Andrew went to a nationally recognized circus school for two years.  We lived right near the tent in which the lessons were given and every year there was a show.  All the instructors were world class former circus performers, most having traveled with shows like Dralion.  Andrew vacillated between totally loving it and being shy and scared.  There were some days we had to practically pry his hands from us and bring him out to the circle, others that he begged to go more than once a week.  This photo was taken during the dress rehearsal for the end of year show.  He did so well and we were super proud of him.

Our Graduate

Two months ago we realized that Andrew was DONE with third grade.  We stopped our traditional schedule (which is pretty unconventional really) and focussed more on what he was interested in day to day.  Yesterday his California Acheivement Test for Third Grade came in the mail and Scott administered it to him.  Let me just say that although we were pretty sure he would ace it, there is always a nagging doubt that we made a mistake or he's forgotten what he knows.  Well all doubts were erased during the test yesterday!  He flew through it, most sections were completed in a minute or two where 10-20 minutes are allotted.  As he took the test he got more and more excited and confident, because he realized that he was way beyond the point of the test in his reading, grammar and math skills, which is primarily what the test covers.  Before bed he told me to go ahead and order the 4th grade test now, because he's pretty sure he's ready for 5th grade to start.  He also asked me to take photos of him taking the test, so we set up a fake shoot.  He thought it would be a good thing to scrapbook about and he made a little sign that says A+ to further show his success.  Scott went back over some of the questions he thought might have caused Andrew to stumble, and they were right.  In fact, he only found a couple of incorrect answers.  Another successful year of homeschooling!

25 Sold Out Kits Can't Be Wrong!

Something that almost never happens has occured at www.tallyscrapper.com and it means good news for all of you!  The kits at tally are famous for selling out, 25 of the past 26 kits are sold out, and the 26th only has three left.  This month's kit, which came out on Thursday is such a bargain!  Its a little cheaper than some of the kits, and its got more paper and product than ever.  I love what my compadre's have done with it on the design team, and I've shown you some of my layouts too...and more are to come.

Here is a video showing you all the great product in the kit.  Run, don't walk and get yours before they too are all gone!

Jadon Lavik What If

What if I climbed that mountain,
what if I swam to that shore
What if every battle was victorious then would you love me more
Would you love me more
What if I were everyone’s first choice,
what if I went farther than before
What if I stood high above the rest
than would you love me more
Would you love me more
You say I belong to you
apart from the things I do
You say I belong to you
I’m in awe of why you do
Why you do, why you do, I’m in awe of you, ooh
What if I ignored the hand that fed me,
what if I forgot to confess
What if I stumbled down that mountain
then would you love me less
Lord would you love me less
What if I were everyones last choice
what if I mixed in with the rest
What if I failed what I passed before then
would you love me less lord would you would you love me less,
oh no oh no oh no
You say I belong to you apart from the things I do
You say I belong to you I’m in awe of why you do
You do you do you do
What have I done to deserve your son sent to die for me
What can I give I want to live give me eyes to see
In a world that keeps changin’ there’s one thing that I know is true
Your love is stayin’ there’s nothing else I’ll hold onto
You say I belong to you apart from the things I do
You say I belong to you I’m in awe of why you do Why you do
You say I belong to you apart from the things I do
You say I belong to you I’m in awe of why you do
I’m in awe of you I’m in awe of you
The way you love me, the way you do
The way you do , the way you love me, you love me , you love me
The way you do the way you do the way you love me, the way you love you love you love

Too Much Yes

This  week was my first full week of working (if you can call my dream job working!)  In addition I made a cake, went to a birthday party, stayed away from home one night, wrote a blog post for tally, made six layouts and three cards with the kit for tally, wrote 50 personalized challenges, took Andrew to Mall of America for the evening, and had people over two nights.  It was too much.

I woke this morning and melted down. A combination of not enough down time and not enough sleep and too much yes. This new week will be better.  I will take care of me first so I have reserves for everyone else.  I will say no when I can't.  I will be gentle with myself.

Scott was wonderful this morning talking me down from my ledge and giving me the morning off.  Andrew was great this afternoon snuggling me and just being a happy kid.

And I got one very important task done that I've been putting off since the wedding.  Ahhhh, new starts!

Design Team Chick once again!

The incredibly sweet folks over at tallyscrapper.com have voted me back on to the design team effective January 1 and I'm so excited to be "home". This place, well, you've heard me go on and on about it so many times, and all the same good stuff holds true. Great people, lots of inspiration, and a scrappy place to feel at home among those who "get scrapping".

A new kit comes out on the 15th and here are my creations so far using it!

Happy Birthday He's Nine!

And he's out sledding with his papa and friends right now!  We're kinda spreading his birthday celebration out over several days, tomorrow he and I are going to toys R us to use his gift certificate, Sunday he gets breakfast in bed, Monday its dinner at the Mall of America and one friend for ride at the theme park,  and hopefully Tuesday night will be a small family gathering!

He really is growing both in maturity and height right now.  We love him like crazy!
