The Photo Monster

SO.  In my possession are the digital files for over 1000 photos from Erin and Lance's wedding.  Yes, 1000.  About 5 and a half gigabytes of photo files.  Not something easy to cart around and share with others.

So, I started a photoblog on Shutterfly. Figured there are probably more than my 1000 photos, and it might be fun to swap stories and videos and such from the day.

So, feel free to invite who you think would be interested.

For a Friend

I'm thinking about a friend tonight who had a quiet holiday...too quiet.  Who is headed for a potentially volatile day tomorrow...just wanted her to know I'm thinking about her, and also WHAT I think about her!

The Annual Photo Shoot

I'm afraid I haven't been posting because I've been too busy taking photos and editing them. After a marathon day today I think I'm finally coming close to being caught up, whew!

Here is a link to this years Crilly Family Photo Shoot, now in its third year! And here are a few of my favorites!

Google Chrome

I mean it. Do it right now. Go to a search engine, type in Google Chrome and do yourself a huge favor. Download it.

I feel like I have a whole new computer. Browsing at lightning speed. Tracking that makes sense. Ahhhhh....

On Vacation, But...

Scott is on vacation this week, so we've been going, going, going, but we did have time for a brief visit with Lisa and Benjamin last night. Isn't he a doll?

Holly's Mum

One bonus of the wedding was meeting several delightful people that were in the family of Lance and Erin, but that I hadn't had a chance to meet before. One of these was Tim's wife, Tracy's sister. Lisa was such a dear and she and Scott and I talked for nearly half an hour during the first portion of the reception.

Another was Holly's mom. She of course immediately got on my good side by complementing my photography, and it was pretty easy to get me to agree to take some shots of her.

I even printed one out for her, but unfortunately it was lost at the excitement of the wedding. So, here's to you Cynthia, it was a pleasure meeting you!

Photos begged, borrowed and stolen

Eagerly stalking facebook waiting for family and friends to put up any photos they took at the wedding...Tim says the real ones should be available very soon!

You are looking for so much more...

...than I can give you at this point. I have this little part of my personality called crisis mode that switches on when I need to be strong and do the right thing and be helpful. Its very handy. It makes me who I am. But unfortunately I cannot control when it switches off. And while it is still on, I'm having a tough time processing the wedding.

I will leave you with these little tastes of photos. For the real thing we will have to await what I imagine will be the fabulous work of the photographer. Crisis mode Minda isn't much of a photographer, turns out. And, I will tell you that it was amazing. Beautiful, healing, joyfilled...and I didn't cry enough to ruin my make up.

Until crisis Minda goes away,

They aren't kidding this time

After years of dating and years of being engaged and years of planning a wedding, tonight I attended the rehearsal of my daughters wedding. In less then 40 hours Erin and Lance will be wed.

Tonight was very "doable" and I was happy to have an opportunity to "toast" the Anderson family and thank them for all the good things that they have done for Erin and Jason over the years.

The playlist, which I will leave up for a week, is most of the music from the wedding ceremony. The parents (all EIGHT of them!) will be seated during Canon in D. The bridesmaids and groomsmen will enter during Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring, and Erin will be escorted down the aisle with Trumpet Voluntary. Then the congregation will sing Joyful, Joyful we Adore Thee. After a reading of I Corinthians 13 by Erin's paternal grandfather, Tim, Erin's father will sing the Lord's Prayer. In the first week that I met Tim he was practicing this very piece for a recital that was required as part of his music degree. He has a lovely voice and it was a treat to be taken back to the past while he was practicing tonight. After a meditation, the vows and a prayer, the Unity Candle will be lit while Tim and a woman with a honey voice that is a neighbor and dear friend will sing Bless the Broken Road. This is a special song for Scott and I and Tim and Lana sing it wonderfully. The recessional is Hornpipe From Water Music, and Erin and Lance will exit under full military salute with a four swordsmen Civil War sword salute.

I of course had no idea what to expect tonight. The "broken road" that has led us to this point has not been easy on anyone. There are many people that were assembled in that room tonight that have hurt and been hurt. But God is a good God. Healing can happen. And if this is what Erin and Lance want, then I for one feel that tonight it was clear that the right amount of healing has happened and all who are at the core of this celebration come with their hearts engaged and their God in charge. I will not soon forget how much at ease I was in a situation that scared me for weeks prior.

Now all that is left is prayer for beautiful flocked snow covered trees for the day of the ceremony!

Halloween Photos

Well, the nonhalloween chick tried to do the halloween thing, really I did!

In the AM, Scott took Andrew to a homeschool halloween party while I went and hung out with Lisa and Ben. Ben had two different halloween themed outfits on while I was there, turns out being born in October means cute halloween outfits in spades!
I took a couple of photos and then we decided if he was going to wear a pumpkin outfit he should be shaped like a pumpkin, so five diapers later, he did. And he didn't like it much. Apparently he's already very sensitive about his weight (geez kid, you are skinny as a rail, chill out a bit!)

Then in the evening, because Scott was working, I took Andrew over to Julie, Park and Ronan's house, had dinner with the fam and then we headed out with the neighborhood kids in tow. (One kids mom actually told him she didn't feel like taking him so he just had to go by himself, even I'm not THAT harsh!) By the time we left Andrew was starting to drag. After two houses he wanted to put his coat on. After four he asked me to start carrying his bag and he was leaving his face mask up. Once we finished one block I started convincing him it was time to go home. He fought me four three more houses and then reached for my hand and asked me to take him home. Poor little one, he never even looked at his candy last night and was in bed by 8pm. Today we both laid around alot, and worked on a puzzle and listened to a book on CD. I'm not sure what is up, he says his head hurts...we are keeping a close watch on him.

But since I went along, we have photos for the first time in years! Woo hoo! They are pretty crappy, but hey, at least they exist!

And in other news that scares the crap outta me, MY DAUGHTER IS GETTING MARRIED THIS MONTH! EEK!
